First Spam Hits Google+ – Wait! Is it a Bug?

As expected! I was just thinking why hackers are quiet and not doing anything bad with Google’s new social website? Then I got the answer that most of the cybercriminals couldn’t get any of the Google+ invites. Apart from jokes let me tell you that first spam has been created by hackers and they have managed to shoot millions of email to the inbox of the Google+ users (unfortunately or fortunately I didn’t get the Google+ invite). Some of the sources reported that there is bug in Google’s new social networking website which caused it to run out of disk!

Digging further into the details! I found out that Senior Vice President of Google Social, Vic Gundotra said that this was a spam! There is nothing like bug in the social network. Yes, he has posted an apology to all the affected users. Let’s see the screenshot below where he is apologizing for the spam:

I wasn’t able to comment because I am unable to get any of the invites. If there is anyone who can do me a favor then please send me an invite for Google+. Anyways, coming back to the point! This seems very embarrassing for Google because there social networking website is still in trial and these things (spams or bugs) are happening. Wow! I just can’t believe that a website yes a website can run out of disk! Oh my god it’s just unbelievable! Not over yet, Rory Cellian-Jones of BBC Tweeted the following tweet.

Yes, I am glad for one thing! What? At lease this wasn’t that kind of spams including those: Viagra spams and phishing messages with links but yes it was a major blunder. I am hoping that Google will definitely track this and guys there would come up with a greater and better solution. Good luck Google!
