iOS 5.0.1 bug – Can’t Remember Your Contacts Name

Yesterday we came to know that there is battery drainage issue in iOS 5.0.1. Now what? Here is another one, if you have updated your iPhone 4S via OTA update method, then do read this post carefully as there is one nasty bug in iOS 5.0.1. Now what is the bug? Your iDevice which is iPhone 4S will not be able to recognize or remember the names of any of your contacts. You can check it by opening the contacts app (screenshot is below for further reference) on your phone.

What you have to notice is that all the call entries will be there but you won’t be able to see any contact name. Wow! Amazing! Further, check it when you receive any text or call from anyone in your contacts.

Things become more worst when you try to type a new text message. After typing the desired text you will definitely tap the send button! Magically you won’t see the name of the contact but the number. Many users are facing this issue with their iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1.

This above mentioned bug will get triggered by following steps:

  • Update your phone via OTA method.
  • Make sure you are using iPhone 4S with Verizon
  • Now disable then enable iCloud contacts. You won’t get this issue resolved.

Go to Settings > International > Language and change the language (ex. to British) and back to (American) English. This will fix it.

But this is a temporary fix Hasan.
