TechCrunch got hacked twice in 24 hours

As most of us noticed that the popular technology blog TechCrunch got hacked twice in 24 hours, first at approximately 10:30 pm PST on Monday evening.

TechCrunch was hacked and redirected to some other website. The site was back at 11:30 pm but shortly went down again, at 2:00 am.

According to Graham Cluely, technology consultant at Sophos:

the site was replaced with a message linking to a site containing links to adult material on the first occasion and on the second occasion visitors were greeted by an offensive message directed at site founder Michael Arrington.

Yesterday’s hacking could have something to do with TechCrunch’s web hosting, Rockspace provides hosting to TechCrunch, but so far both companies are silent on how the hackers have gained access.

Latest news says that the site is back again but we have to wait and see how long they can last without being hacked.
