iPhone Developer Banned by Apple

According to Apple, it has taken remedial actions for handling the situation that was arose with one the developers of iPhone who might have used iTunes accounts of other users illegally to make purchases of applications that were developed himself.

iphone developer bannedAccording to CNET, Because of the violation of Developers Program License Agreement, Apple have removed all the apps and banned the developer renowned as “Thuat Nguyen” from its App Store and void all its fraudulent sales and purchases!

For those readers who don’t know about the incident yet; Nguyen (A developer of iPhone apps ant App Store) had a massive increase in sales over the weekend and the number of sales was so incredible that this single developer was on the top of the rankings by revenue as his 42 books from the total of 50 books were the best sellers; But the thing which makes this sudden increase in sales very suspicious was the iTunes users starting reporting illegal purchases made though their accounts from app store right at the time when Nguyen books were selling the most!

Although, Apple has said that security of their server for handling iTunes transactions wasn’t compromised and according to one of the representative of Apple; Only extremely little percentage of iTune users got affected the figure is so small (400 out of 150 million) which is not even 0.0003% of the actual user base of iTunes.

After this incident Apple has made changes in its policies regarding user privacy and now it has been assured to the customers that in future developers will not be allowed to receive any of the customer confidential data when customer downloads any of their app.

Apple also said that a new security measure is implemented to prevent such activities to take place in future on iTunes App Store; Users will now more frequently requested to enter code that is present on their credit cards specially when the user is accessing iTune account from different location or computer and/or making any of his purchases from iTunes Store.

Apple has also recommended users should contact their financial institution and check if there are any unauthorized charges made by iTunes on their credit cards. Changing iTune account password as soon as possible is also recommended by Apple, further instructions and tips regarding iTune accounts security can be seen on Apple’s Official Support Website.
