Worst DDos Hits 4Chan.org

We hear so much about the outage of world’s famous websites and online tools. Today is just another one, yes 4chan is offline since Sunday morning as a DDOS attack hits the discussed website. 4chan team is unable to get back online as they are struggling to do so. Update: Site is back online (according to 4chan’s Twitter account).

Their status says:

Site down due to a large DDoS attack. We hope to have it back up soon.

Some of the sources reported that they are able to access the attacked website but the performance was too slow. Yesterday, I tried to access 4chan.org but all in vain.

Yesterday their status said:

Site continues to be down due to a DDoS attack, consisting of a UDP flood on port 80.

Now let have a glance at the statistics of 4chan. It gets 1.6 million unique daily hits and almost 40 million page views. This site is ranked in top 800 websites worldwide. Hackers were trying to get hold of the site but they were not able to do that but now they finally managed to get in down on Sunday morning.

A flash back at history! 4chan’s site was temporarily down in March and October due to some technical issues. This is the second time when hackers successfully managed to get in. Site also suffered a DDoS attack in January this year.

No attack details has been shared by 4chan as they refused to comment.
